Executive Communication Coaching

For more than 25 years, I’ve helped executives, founders, business owners, physicians, attorneys, nonprofit leaders, and public figures strengthen one of the most powerful drivers of organizational success: communication.

Every leader creates a leadership brand through the way they communicate. Every conversation, meeting, presentation, email, decision, and interaction influences how people think, collaborate, solve problems, navigate change, and experience your organization’s culture.

One of the aspects of my work I enjoy most is helping leaders raise the level of strategy and emotional intelligence they bring to communication. Together, we’ll think several steps ahead before important conversations, define both the outcomes you want to create and the outcomes you want to avoid, anticipate how others are likely to respond, and develop communication strategies that support your broader leadership goals.

Of course, those same skills become invaluable during high-stakes opportunities such as board meetings, investor presentations, media interviews, keynote speeches, organizational change, negotiations, crisis situations, and difficult conversations. My goal is to help you communicate more intentionally in every situation, not just the biggest ones.

How We’ll Work Together

Every coaching engagement is tailored to the leader, the organization, and the goals you’re working toward.

Some clients come to me with an immediate challenge—a board presentation, investor meeting, media interview, keynote speech, or organizational announcement. Others want to strengthen the way they lead every day by becoming more intentional, strategic, and influential communicators. Many are looking for both.

Our work begins by identifying what you’re trying to accomplish and the communication challenges that may be standing in your way. From there, we’ll develop practical strategies you can immediately apply to your leadership responsibilities.

Depending on your goals, we may focus on executive presence, leadership communication, message development, presentations, negotiation, difficult conversations, emotional intelligence, media interviews, crisis communication, communication during organizational change, executive writing, or strengthening the communication systems that influence your organization’s culture.

Throughout the process, I’ll challenge you to think differently about communication. We’ll look beyond what you plan to say and explore why you’re saying it, how it might be interpreted, what unintended consequences it could create, and what approaches are most likely to help you achieve your objectives.

Rather than giving you scripts or formulas, I’ll help you develop a way of thinking about communication that strengthens your leadership long after our coaching engagement has ended.

My Perspective

After working with thousands of clients across a wide range of industries, I’ve become convinced that communication is one of the greatest untapped opportunities for improving leadership and organizational performance.

I often see organizations filled with talented people whose meetings could be more strategic, whose conversations could benefit from greater emotional intelligence, and whose leaders have opportunities to create stronger alignment simply by communicating more intentionally.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is watching those shifts take place. As leaders become more thoughtful communicators, they often find that the people around them begin communicating differently as well. Conversations become more productive. Meetings become more engaging. Feedback becomes more constructive. People solve problems more collaboratively. Trust grows. Culture strengthens.

Those changes rarely happen because someone learned a new communication technique. They happen because leaders begin approaching communication with greater intention.
