Media Training for Actors, Music Artists & Performers
For performers, media interviews are part of the job. Whether you’re promoting a film, television series, album, tour, or other creative project, every interview contributes to the public’s perception of you and your work.
The strongest interviews don’t happen by chance. They begin with thoughtful preparation, a clear understanding of what you want audiences to remember, and the confidence to communicate naturally while staying true to yourself.
For more than 25 years, Lisa Elia has worked alongside publicists, journalists, producers, managers, and talent, preparing clients for interviews with hundreds of television, radio, print, digital, and podcast outlets. Drawing on decades of experience in public relations and media training, she helps performers understand how entertainment media works, what interviewers are trying to accomplish, and how to communicate strategically while remaining authentic, engaging, and in control.
Her clients have been represented by, or worked with, Paramount, Disney, Nickelodeon, Universal Music, 300 Entertainment, and many other respected entertainment companies.
Our Approach
Every performer has a different personality, career path, public image,
and comfort level with the media.
Some clients are preparing for a press junket, film premiere, record launch, television appearance, podcast interview, publicity tour, or red carpet event. Others want to become more comfortable speaking about their work, strengthen their personal brand, or make the most of the opportunities that come with greater visibility.
Our work begins by thinking strategically about how you want to be perceived, what you want audiences to remember, and where you want to establish healthy boundaries between your public and private life. Together, we’ll prepare for expected questions, anticipate more challenging ones, and develop communication strategies that support both your current project and your long-term career.
My goal isn’t to make you sound polished or rehearsed. It’s to help you become so well prepared that you can relax, enjoy the conversation, and let your personality come through naturally.

Beyond Interview Skills
Media training is about much more than answering questions well.
Every interview gives you an opportunity to shape your professional reputation. While audiences may first discover you through your work, interviews often shape how they connect with you as a person. Thoughtful preparation allows you to communicate authentically while reinforcing the qualities you want people to remember long after the interview ends.
Together, we’ll think through how you want to represent yourself throughout your career. We’ll discuss how to communicate authentically without oversharing, how to navigate sensitive topics with confidence, and how to create consistency across interviews so audiences, journalists, casting professionals, producers, labels, studios, and brand partners come away with a clear understanding of who you are and what you stand for.
We’ll also prepare for those moments that can’t be scripted—the unexpected question, the awkward interview, the viral clip, the paparazzi encounter, or the off-the-cuff comment that suddenly becomes tomorrow’s headline. Thoughtful preparation helps you respond with confidence instead of reacting in the moment.
Skills You’ll Strengthen
Throughout our work together, you’ll become better prepared to:
- communicate naturally and confidently during interviews
- answer difficult or personal questions with grace
- stay focused on the messages you want audiences to remember
- strengthen your on-camera presence
- build positive relationships with journalists and interviewers
- represent your projects, collaborators, and sponsors professionally
- communicate with confidence during both planned and unexpected media opportunities
